Before taking action, you should go to the block explorer where the transaction occurred to check whether your transaction was broadcast to the network. The Uniswap-supported networks and their associated blockchain explorers are available here.
How to check for pending transactions:
- Go to the associated block explorer.
- Search your wallet address.
- Look for any pending transactions.
If you do see pending transactions, these are your choices:
-
Wait: Most transactions will complete within a few minutes. However, during periods of high network activity, a transaction may take longer. The Uniswap interface has a default transaction deadline setting of 20 minutes, after which the transaction will automatically fail. Once the transaction has failed, you can resubmit your transaction.
- Refresh your browser: Troubleshooting: How to clear browser data has steps for most common web browsers.
- Cancel the transaction: If your transaction is stuck in a pending state, you may be able to cancel it. Cancelling a transaction will submit an empty transaction with a higher network fee. Cancelling a transaction will only work when there are no more pending transactions. The blockchain processes transactions in chronological order. If you see multiple pending transactions on the block explorer, please reach out to our support team here.
How to cancel a pending transaction:
- Select “Activity”.
- Select the transaction you would like to cancel.
- Select “Cancel transaction”.
If you’re using the Uniswap Wallet, you can learn more about pending transactions here.
