If you get a new phone, you will need to restore your recovery phrase on your new device. This article will walk through the steps to complete this.
In order to restore your Uniswap Wallet you will need:
- Your recovery phrase written down from a manual backup
- Your iCloud backup password from a iCloud backup
Without your recovery phrase or your iCloud back up password, you may not be able to recover your Uniswap Wallet and lose access to your funds permanently.
Uniswap Labs does not store your recovery phrase or your iCloud back up password.
How to recover your Uniswap Wallet on a new device:
-
When you open the Uniswap Wallet on the new device, you will see a prompt to restore. Select “Restore”. If you choose to dismiss, you may not be able to swap and send in the wallet.
-
If you backed up your recovery phrase over iCloud, the wallet will search for backups.
-
If a backup is found, you will be prompted to enter in your iCloud backup password.
-
If there is no backup found or if you didn’t backup through iCloud, you will be prompted to enter in your recovery phrase.
-
Once the iCloud backup password or recovery phrase is entered, the app will search for wallets.
-
If you have multiple wallets under the same recovery phrase they will appear here and you can select the wallet you want to restore.
-
After you select “Continue” you will have access to your wallet and have the ability to send and swap.
