Follow step-by-step instructions for adding an existing recovery phrase to the Uniswap Wallet so you can migrate or restore a self-custody wallet.
If you already have an existing self-custody wallet, it’s easy to switch to the Uniswap Wallet.
You can simply copy your recovery phrase from your current wallet app, then paste it in the Uniswap Wallet to get started.
Before importing your recovery phrase, make sure you are in a safe and private location. No one should be able to see your recovery phrase.
You should never share your recovery phrase. If someone is able to access your recovery phrase, they can control your wallet and approve transactions.
How to import your recovery phrase:
- Download and open the Uniswap Wallet on Apple iOS or Android.
- Select “Add an existing wallet”.
- Select “Enter recovery phrase” This will allow you to import your recovery phrase from another wallet.
- Type or paste your recovery phrase, then select “Continue”.
Some wallets from other providers (such as Ledger) have 24-word recovery phrases. If your recovery phrase is 24 words, just keep entering the second half after the entry box turns green.

Confirm the wallet address you would like to import, then select “Continue”. All wallet addresses created with the recovery phrase entered will be listed.
- You can choose to set a recovery password or skip backup. If you skip backup, make sure you have your recovery phrase safely stored somewhere else.

Turn on push notifications.
- Set up Touch/Face ID or Biometrics.
Congratulations! You are ready to swap using the Uniswap Wallet.
