Troubleshooting: How to clear browser data

Clearing browser data on a desktop computer:

Google Chrome or Brave

  1. Go to the Uniswap website.
  2. Disconnect your wallet in the browser.
  3. Select the site information icon in the browser website address bar.

  4. Select "Cookies and site data".
  5. Select "Manage on-device site data".
  6. Select the trash can icon for each data point stored.
  7. Select "Reload" that appears under the browser address bar.
  8. Close and reopen the website.
  9. Restart your device.

Note: If you are using the Brave browser, you may need to disable the built-in Brave wallet to resolve browser issues.

  1. Enter brave://flags/#native-brave-wallet in the address bar.
  2. Change the Enable Brave Wallet option to Disabled.
  3. Select “Relaunch browser” in the bottom-right.
  4. After disabling the wallet, try the steps for clearing browser data again.


Firefox

  1. Go to the Uniswap website.
  2. Disconnect your wallet in the browser.

  3. Select the lock icon in the URL website address area.
  4. Select "Clear cookies and site data"
  5. Select "Remove".
  6. Reload the website. If you are using a desktop computer, you can do a hard refresh:
    1. For PCs: select Control + Shift + R on your keyboard at the same time
    2. For Mac: select Command + Shift + R on your keyboard at the same time
  7. Restart your device.


Microsoft Edge

  1. Go to the Uniswap website.
  2. Disconnect your wallet in the browser.
  3. Select the lock icon in the URL website address area.

  4. Select "Cookies and site data".
  5. Select “Cookies”.
  6. Select each data set and select “Remove”. (You will likely have multiple data sets. Select and remove all.)

  7. Reload the website. If you are using a desktop computer, you can do a hard refresh.
    1. For PCs: select Control + Shift + R on your keyboard at the same time
    2. For Mac: select Command + Shift + R on your keyboard at the same time
  8. Restart your device.


Safari

  1. Go to the Uniswap website.

  2. Disconnect your wallet in the browser.
  3. Select the Safari menu in the top left corner.

  4. Select "Settings".

  5. Select "Privacy".

  6. Select the "Manage Website Data" icon.

  7. Select "Remove all" to remove any cached data and cookies.

    Note: you can also search for Uniswap and only remove that data.

  8. Select "Remove Now" in the new dialogue box.

  9. Wait a few moments, then click "Done".

  10. Close the dialogue box.

  11. Press Command + Q to quit Safari.

  12. Restart your device.

Clearing browser data on an iOS (Apple) mobile device:

Safari (Default iOS Browser)

Safari doesn’t allow partial cache clearing (like just cookies or just cached images), it clears all website data.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Safari.
  3. Scroll down again and tap Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Confirm by tapping Clear History and Data.🔒
    Note: This will also clear history, cookies, and other browsing data

Chrome  

  1. Open the Chrome app.
  2. Tap the three dots (•••) in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Tap History.
  4. Tap Clear Browsing Data… at the bottom.
  5. Select the data types to clear: Browsing History, Cookies, Site Data, Cached Images and Files, etc.
  6. Select the Time Range (e.g., "All Time").
  7. Tap Clear Browsing Data, then tap again to confirm.

Firefox

  1. Open the Firefox app.
  2. Tap the three lines (≡) in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll to Privacy, tap Data Management.
  5. Toggle on what you want to delete (e.g., CacheCookiesBrowsing History).
  6. Tap Clear Private Data at the bottom.
  7. Confirm when prompted

Brave 

  1. Open the Brave app.
  2. Tap the three dots (•••) at the bottom.
  3. Tap Settings > Privacy.
  4. Tap Clear Private Data.
  5. Choose the data types (Browsing History, Cache, Cookies, etc.).
  6. Tap Clear Private Data Now, then confirm.🤖 


Clearing browser data on an Android mobile device:

Chrome

  1. Open the Chrome app.
  2. Tap the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap History > Clear browsing data….
  4. Choose a Time Range (e.g., "All Time").
  5. Check the boxes for Cookies and site data and Cached images and files.
  6. Tap Clear data.
    Optionally, go to Settings > Apps > Chrome > Storage > Clear Cache for app-level cache clearing (not browser data).

Firefox

  1. Open the Firefox app.
  2. Tap the three dots (⋮) in the bottom-right or top-right.
  3. Tap Settings > Delete browsing data.
  4. Select the data types (Browsing history, Cookies, Cache, etc.).
  5. Tap Delete browsing data.For automatic clearing, go to Settings > Delete browsing data on quit and toggle desired options.

Brave

  1. Open the Brave app.
  2. Tap the three dots (⋮) in the bottom or top-right.
  3. Tap Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
  4. Choose the Time Range.
  5. Select what you want to clear (Cached files, Cookies, History, etc.).
  6. Tap Clear data.
