Unsupported Token List

Some ERC-20 token contracts are not available for swapping on the Uniswap Labs interface and mobile app.

The Uniswap Protocol is permissionless and censorship resistant, meaning anyone can access it at any time and it cannot be changed. Uniswap Labs builds products on top of that Protocol, like the web and mobile apps, is based in the United States, and is subject to certain laws and regulations.

The following categories are the circumstances under which Uniswap Labs may move a token to The Unsupported Token List:

  1. Legal and regulatory requirements. A federal agency settlement or court judgment against the token’s issuer finds that the tokens are regulated financial instruments (e.g., securities or derivatives) when traded in secondary transactions; or otherwise, upon internal legal review, and consultation with counsel;
  2. Fraud allegations. A major financial or criminal regulator files fraud allegations against the token issuer
  3. Intellectual property claims. A holder of intellectual property serves us with notice of plausible infringement of:
    1. a copyright, this is subject to notice and takedown provisions of the DMCA
    2. a trademark, this is not subject to the DMCA and its established counter-notice procedures), or
    3. the publicity rights of a third party (beyond the mere usage of a common name, and again not subject to the DMCA)
  4. Risks to users. We believe there are technical, fraud, or other risks that could significantly affect user safety.
