How to swap on the Avalanche Network

Swapping with Uniswap v3 on the Avalanche network is the same as swapping on the Ethereum Mainnet.

To swap on Avalanche, follow these steps:

  1. Open Uniswap web app and connect your wallet. Next, select the network drop-down in the upper right hand of the screen.

  2. Select the Avalanche network.

  3. Select the token drop-down.

  4. Search for and select the token you wish to swap/sell. You can browse the token list or search for a token by name or contract address.

  5. Select the token drop-down.

  6. Search for and select the token you wish to swap for. You can browse the token list or search for a token by name or contract address.

  7. Enter the amount you would like to swap, receive, or select the “Max” option.

The “Max” option automatically inputs the total amount of the token you have available in your wallet for swapping.

  8. Select “Swap”.

  9. Select “Approve and swap”.

Your trade will only use Uniswap V3 liquidity pools on the Avalanche -- it will not use a different network’s liquidity, even if a better price is available on a different network.

You can view liquidity and volume on Avalanche pairs at the Uniswap explore page.

  10. In your wallet, approve Uniswap to access the token you are swapping. This transaction requires network costs.

For more information on token approvals see our article “What is a token approval”.

  11. In your wallet, sign the message. This transaction will not require a network cost. This message is a Permit2 signature.

To learn more about this see our post "Permit2 and the Universal Router”.

  12. In your wallet, confirm the swap. This transaction requires network costs.

  13. Once the swap is confirmed, the transaction is submitted to the blockchain (pending).

  14. You will see “Swap success” and a green checkmark on screen when the transaction is successfully completed.

You have now successfully swapped on Avalanche! To view your swap on Snowtrace (the Avalanche Blockchain Explorer), you can select “View on Explorer”.
