Uniswap v4 is a non-custodial, non-upgradeable, and permissionless automated market maker protocol.
Uniswap v4 lets us create custom AMM features directly on top of Uniswap instead of having to create a new AMM design. Uniswap v4 gives developers access to deep liquidity and existing powerful features like concentrated liquidity.

Uniswap v4 release timeline
We have released the draft code for Uniswap v4 now so that it can be built in public, with open feedback and meaningful community contribution. We expect this will be a months-long process.
However, before we can launch Uniswap v4, EIP-1153: Transient storage must be included in the next Ethereum hardfork. EIP-1153 is expected to be included in the Cancun upgrade coming the Ethereum Blockchain.
While there is no release date for Ethereum Cancun, it’s expected to go live by the end of 2023.
Uniswap v4 uses EIP-1153 to reduce network costs and improve upon Uniswap v3.
